Busy and frazzled from owning two businesses and bringing up their energetic girls, Jo and Neil craved some together time. They set out to find a hobby they would enjoy together, when the girls were asleep.
Jo loved interiors and had studied design at university, whilst Neil loved planning, tinkering and experimenting. They figured it would be easy to find the perfect thing. But what? Turns out it was harder than they thought to find something they both wanted to do. Until one night, channel flicking, they caught the tail end of a TV show about candle-making. They’d given everything else a shot, so why not?
On a whim they ordered a kit online and waited for it to arrive. Little did they know that they were not just waiting for a candle kit. What they were waiting for was a new passion that would lead to a new and exciting business. What they were waiting for was JoJo. Co.
The story ends with Neil not quite catching the candle-making bug, unlike Jo. His skills in planning and tinkering help streamline and support the business so Jo can continue to invent new products and blend exciting fragrances.
It might not be the hobby they were expecting, but life has a funny way of twisting and turning when you least expect it.
